I'm taking my wanderlust to a new level by shedding everything familiar and safe and hitting the road with a one way ticket and lots of guts. I start in Ireland, with planned stops in E. Europe before arriving in Egypt, then onto Tanzania for a Mt. Kili climb/safari before arriving in Zanzibar. From there, S. Africa, India, SE Asia, Australia/NZ, and eventually S. America. Afterward skidding home on fumes of glory, whereupon I will quickly be couch-surfing until I can land on my feet again.

Amazing Grace

My last stop in Colombia took me to a town with a beautiful Gothic church built right in a gorge over a river. It is a great man-made wonder. I met a couple from Quito while there. The gal was so friendly and greeted me like I was an old friend. She and her husband ended up inviting me to stay with them when I arrive there. It was a quick stop and then I set off for the border of Ecuador, an easy process. Now to figure out how to spend my two weeks!

Make sure to take pics of the big turtles in Galapagos. We were looking at the pictures of the killing fields in Cambodia. Do you think that the clothes that are coming up out of the ground can spread diseases? Are there bodies coming up out of the ground there? Did you feel any spirits or presences in the prison (In Cambodia?) Do you think it is haunted? In Colombia, what is the local opinion of Pablo Escobar and about the mafia? And back in Cambodia, where they drive around on little scooters, what is the police force like there? Are there traffic cops? Dea wants to know about the guy with the nice body in Vietnam. Did you like him? Are you seeing any indigenous peoples in South America? Have you run into anything or anyone that has scared you on this trip? Was there ever any point that you thought you would run out of money? Was there any times that you wanted to come home or come back--were you ever homesick? Do little kids like you? Are they fascinated by you?
