Ok, in the heart of Arizona is a cave in the middle of no where.

Deep in the Cave

Just a hole in the ground
Ok, a group of us went camping in a cave, what a party.  This is with a Meetup group (www.meetup.com) if you have not been to this site it is a great way to meet new people and to do different things.  As you can see this group met up and camped in a cave, how cool is that?  It was just a hole in the ground that opened up into several rooms.  It was 20 degrees outside but 65 degrees inside.  Not really sure where this place was, it was dark and I was to meet up with the group at a campsite off the main highway.  All I can say is it was about an hour east of Payson.  My son and I met up with the group on Friday night and camped out waiting for others to show up and some were only gonna stay the one night in the cave.
Some of us like to camp the whole weekend, it just means some really good cooking and relaxing.  The next morning we waited for the last folks to show then we starting driving down all these dirt roads.  We turned left, right, up and down for quite a while, I kept wondering when we would be there.  We finally came to a place and parked the cars.  At that point we loaded up a trailer and connected it to a ATV.  We followed the ATV and trailer through some woods and trails.  We of course had to WALK about a mile or two.  Then came the fun part, finding the hole in the middle of no where.  As you see from the picture, it really is just a hole in the ground.  The guy knew approximately where it was but we all had to spread out and look for it.

We finally found it, but no trails to it so we had to unload the trailer and carry the camping stuff about 1000 feet on the edge of the rocks and stuff.  Now the fun part....someone had to go in first and make sure there were no animals in there that could hurt us...uhh ok, who is going first???  Lol.  After it was deemed safe we made several trips back to the ATV and trailer to get our coolers, food, sleeping bags, drinks and music in to the cave.  We set up candles everywhere, and as you can see made for some interesting pics.  The rooms were illuminated with a warm glowing color that really set and interesting mood.  There were three large rooms to this cave, one we slept in cause it was level, the other was a big room with not so level floor and the third had the water in it and was only about 4 feet high, but as you can see beautiful pics.  We had music, food and drinks and some good conversations within this cave.  We all went to bed about the same time since there was only one big room, it was kinda hard to sleep in the cave as lots of drops of water kept falling and waking me up...drip....drip....drip...lol.  I am a very light sleeper.  I have camped in many places, most of the time I do not camp in designated campgrounds cause of all the rules and so many people.  I must say this was an interesting camping trip for me.
