Day out and Work

After two nights in a motel, I was ready to move temporarily into my next accommodation, with some good friends, Jon and Liz and their 4 kids. They were kind enough to offer me a place to stay for as long as I needed it, which has been great. The first afternoon I spent with them, Jon took me for a drive to look at a room which I could rent, which as it turns out I have. It’s not the cheapest room, but in a nice house and nice area and pretty close to everything I need, I move in tomorrow.
The first day I was there it was decided that we go for a BBQ at the beach that afternoon. I had been to that particular beach before a few years ago, but not this area. We didn’t get there early enough and ended up eating in the dark, but it still tasted great. After this we went for a short walk on the beach.
The next day I ventured out with a friend of mine and her
son and we went to the same beach for lunch. I was able to see more of the
beach on this occasion as we went for a quite a long walk. After this we went
to the harbour, which ahs changed considerably from when I last went there
years ago. One thing I remember from my childhood was a particular children’s
playground which I used to play on. Amazingly it still stands, so I couldn’t
resist having some pictures taken with these larger than life characters in the
park, well some of them anyway.
It has rained everyday since I got here so far and
apparently this is what it usually is like??? It is still warm though, but this
rain reminds me of
On Sunday I was taken out to lunch with some company also friends at a sports club called Magpies, which had recently been renovated. The meal was great and so was the company, a good place which isn’t too far from where I will be living. It even has a children’s play area.
My first day at work was not that exciting, I was very nervous and didn’t quite know what to expect. I had been told that I would be working with another manager, but in the end it was me and two other young workers which worked for most of the day. This felt strange as I was meant to be in charge, but I didn’t know what I was doing???
