Two months to take on as many Mayan ruins and beaches as I can handle.

Zipolite

After 12 days in Puerto Escondido, I press on to Zipolite despite the swine flu freak-out.  Zipolite is just a 1.5 hour bus ride from Puerto Escondido to Pochutla and then a short taxi ride to the beach.  I'm staying at the Brisas Marina which has rooms right on the beach -- I emailed ahead of time to score a room facing the beach...nothing spectacular about the digs, concrete room with simple bed, table and private bathroom, but you can't beat the view and proximity to the beach.

A stand out restaurant down the street is Piedra de Fuego, which serves huge portions of food for a couple pesos (about M$60-80, which equals about US$6 right now).

I loved Zipolite (long time ago...)
There I swam (very first time in my life)with dolphins.
The View from our room - Amazing, downstairs - wonderfull beach, the Hotel was pretty cool - a giant timber house (by Daniel Wiener - such a cool guy - we loved him...)
