Two months to take on as many Mayan ruins and beaches as I can handle.

Merida

Accommodations and climate fare better in Merida.  It's not as humid in Merida and I score a tiny room at the Hotel del Peregrino which fuses bedroom area together with a shower, sink and  toilet into one room sans the typical separation wall between the bedroom and facilities  -- no matter,  it has an immaculate bath area and AC.  I ponder the notion that people should rephrase the saying "Best thing since sliced bread" to "...since AC". I can MacGyver sliced bread, I can only MacGruber an AC unit.

Merida is serving as base from which I'll be staging a visit to the Ruta Puuc, Kabah and Uxmal.
