Back to BA

After a fairly bumpy flight back up from the very south of Patagonia, we arrived back to Buenos Aires - this time it wasmore ofaculture shock! The sticky heat hit us as soon as we stepped-off the plane and after the cool evenings of El Chalten El Calafate, it was very tiring.
This time we werestaying outof the centre of downtown BA in a typical "Porteño" House - classical architecture, high ceilings, marble staircases, a roof terrace, shutter windows with tiny balconies and very high doors.
We spent time wandering around the areas of San Telmo, Recoletta and Palermo. Palermo was extremely "hip"and way out of our league, however we did find a groovy vegetarian restaurant which had such tiny low-down tables and chairs we felt like Gulliver in Lilliput!
We weren´t hanging around in BA long on this stop and headed-over to Mondevideo, the capital of Uruguay aftera couple of days to start a little trip along the East Coast for a few days and hopefully get abit of colour - from the sun this time rather than the fierce wind-burn of Patagonia!
