On the top of the Empire State Building in New York.

Today marks the last day of our New York trip before we had to fly back to Los Angeles. This was the day that we were going to travel through Times Square in search of the famous Empire State Building. For something so huge and what appears to be the center of Manhattan, it was pretty difficult to find. Comparing it to the Sears Tower, I would have to say that in terms of popularity the Empire State Building has the edge... but in terms of being sanative... it goes to the Sears Tower.

The only thing about the Empire State Building is that it allows you to go towards the balcony so that you can really see how far up you are. Other than that, it was freezing cold and it gave me a headache. Going down the building was even more tedious because of the wait.

Most of the day just seemed like a blur after that.

NBA Store in New York.
We headed down to Chinatown in search of Lombardi's on Spring St. This is supposedly the best pizza that Manhattan has to offer. All the other best pizzerias are located in Brooklyn, so forget about it. Then after lunch, we strolled through the back alleys and made our way back through Times Square in order to pick up where we left off from yesterday. I got to check out my favorite stop of all, the NBA store. You can see from the chart, I am nowhere near close to 6'8", but I tower over 6'. Kind of a stupid thing to brag about, but this was pretty much all I had going for me. We even checked out the Tiffany & Co that Karen wanted to go to. After that, I was in a mad dash to buy every other souvenir for any other family members that I could think of.

From what I can gather, here's what we didn't do: Go to Harlem, walk through Central Park, take the ferry through the Statue of Liberty, and go through Queens. In retrospect, you can have a great vacation doing what I did. The one bad thing about New York is the traffic. Our taxi ride to the airport would've have been 15 minutes, but traffic held us back about an hour and a half. Other than that, everything was worth it... and I couldn't have enjoyed my spring break anymore so than I did.
