After not seeing each other for a while Jacqueline ( Travbuddy Jacquelineinmiddenamerika) and I decided to do a mini meetup last saturday in sunny Scheveningen!! We met at the boulevard in the early morning at 8 o´clock but the sun was already shining and the temperature was lovely already! The boulevard was deserted and the employees of the many restaurants and beachclubs were cleaning.
Jacq and I decided to walk along the boulevard and were enjoying the view on the beach and the sea. Than we went to the old town of Scheveningen just behind the boulevard to watch the old fishermen´s houses, the old church and the monument " the fisherman´s wife" which stands for the people who never came back from the sea.
We walked further and came along the lighthouse. Then we decided to take a rest at the lovely beachclub "Nalu beach" and had a late breakfast with croissants, butter, jam, nutella and a cup of capuccino and tea. It is a nice place to chill and I´m sure that I come back another time!!
Then we walked to the jetty and harbour and enjoyed watching the boats. We explored the dutch navy mine sweeper "The Mercuur" which is a museum now and after that we decided to eat lunch at the terrace of the nice fishrestaurant " De Dagvisser". We both had a nice salade, Jacqueline chose a salade with goatcheese and I with mackerel. It was delicious!!!
After that we took another route through Scheveningen head for the small museum of the history of Scheveningen "MUZEE" which is in the neighbourhood of the Kuhrhaus. We explored the museum and walked to the boulevard again to end our nice day at another beachclub " SOL" which was very colourful. It was nice chilling here!
Thanks Jacqueline for a great day at the beach!! And we certainly do it again someday!!
