Beach Cruisers were the theme of the weekend!!! When we arrived in San Diego
we took a walking tour of downtown to check it out. After walking around for a little we grabbed a beer at Dick's Last Resort, which is sort of a frat guys getaway. It had a beach style theme and the bartenders are very loud and somewhat obnoxious, but i'd go back, what the hell!!! Jenn and i also have another hobby of collecting original beer glasses from breweries or restaurants. Dick's had an option to buy a big beer and keep the personal glass which i did. Our waiter ended up being from New Jersey and we actually used to go bridge jumping at the same place up near my sister's house. So, Amanda was able to talk her way into getting the same beer glass but her's was absolutely free!!! after that we ended up going to the Ocean Room, which is a sushi restaurant that i found while searching on the internet.
The food and prices during happy hour were extremely reasonable and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our waiter was great, he definitely took care of us and also made some of his signature drinks, including: Mai Tai, Cherry Chocolate Martini and his specialty, a great glass of Blue Moon for me. Later that night we got ready to go out to enjoy the nightlife. I was able to get in touch with an old friend from back home and he met us at our hotel and immediately began talking about the good ol days of going to shows(hardcore, punk) and living the good life. The next day we hit up old town and Coronado Island. We rented some beach cruisers and took a tour of the island. it was definitely relaxing and a great way to explore the island. We went out to eat at some joint that was recommended to us from a friend who used to work at famous hotel across the street. Needless to say, it wasn't a great experience but we enjoyed the weekend so that was the least of our worries. All in All, good times!!!
