It's been great to be back in Albuquerque the past few months, because more than anything else, I miss the food! I even made a trip out to New Mexico in 2004 for the sole purpose of eating.
Here is what could be waiting for you:(Note: This may be a bad idea if you have Acid Reflux disease or are on some sort of a low fat diet)
Grandy's Restaurant - 1400 Juan Tabo Blvd
Here is where you can find the best chicken nuggets you will ever have. You can get them with your choice of two sides. I recommend the potatoes! Try the sweet tea too. If you haven't been to the South, you've probably never experienced sweet tea.
Buffett's Candies - 7001 Lomas Blvd
Here is where you can get some really delicious chocolates or other sweet things.
Pizza Castle - 1309 Eubank Blvd
This is the best pizza I've ever had. and it's the hugest and cheapest too. You can get two slices and a drink for $3.50. AND you can play Area 51 while you wait!!!
Twister's Grill - 2912 Juan Tabo Blvd
Here is one of MANY places you can get a good breakfast burrito. Carne adovada, hash browns, cheese, green chili- If it's good enough for my cat, it's good enough for you, chumps.
Garduno's Restaurant - 10551 Montgomery Blvd
Aha, finally, my number one favorite place to eat of all time. Mariachis will serenade you as you eat phenomenal and free chips and salsa and chow down on a crispity deep fried quesadilla.
Mac's Steak in the Rough - 8600 Indian School Rd
Don't even think about it, go for the "Taquito Tusom" and a large cherry limeade! These taquitos are so tasty. And the guacamole is tasty too!(not as tasty as my homemade guac though)
Frontier Restaurant - 2400 Central Ave
This is probably the most popular restaurant among young people. Across from UNM and open 24 hours? Does it get any better? The frontier burritos are amazing, the frontier rolls are oozing with buttery goodness, chicken nachos are spiced to perfection, and they make FRESH delicious lemonade and orange juice.
Dion's Pizza - 10401 Montgomery Blvd
This pizza's pretty darn tasty. It's probably as good as Pizza Castle's but less huge. You can put anything you want on it! I recommend green chili and pepperoni. You can pretty much put green chili on anything in any restaurant in New Mexico. They have great salads and subs too.
Sonic Drive-in - 825 Eubank Blvd
Sonic! My favorite fast food place. Waitresses on roller skates, Ocean Water, tots, coneys, Frito pie, Grilled cheese on Texas toast! It's a nationwide chain but they haven't conquered enough territory so enjoy it while you have the chance.
