My summary of Auckland
March 27, 2006
I spent my remaining time in Auckland. I considered driving north to the tip of New Zealand but ultimately decided against it. There was plenty to see in Auckland. I'm not a gambler but I did spend some time in the Skycity's casino. I won money playing various games of chance. Yippee!!! I recommend going to the observation deck at the top of the Skycity. You get some great views. Feeling brave? Attach yourself to a safety cable and go for a walk on the outside of the observation deck. Feeling braver? Jump off the observation deck!!! It's a controlled descent, not a free fall like in a bungee jump. No, I didn't. Perhaps if someone was with me, I would have done it.
The Auckland waterfront is nice. I decided to take an Auckland harbor boat tour. I'm glad I did because you can get great views of the Auckland skyline. There were a lot of thing pointed out along the tour, but I'm a pinhead and don't take notes. Therefore I can't tell you what I saw. Sorry!!
I regret that I only had 6 days in New Zealand. There were so many things I wanted to see but didn't get the chance to do. I'm certain that I will be back in the future.
