We were exhausted when we got there (9 hours of driving and a day in Niagara Falls does that to you!) but we didn't have all that much time so we mustered up all the energy we had left and went downtown, which was within walking distance of the hotel. There was a wealth of Irish bars in Toronto, so we decided to get some comfort food in one! I think it was called the Irish Embassy and was right in the heart of Toronto. I remember the food being good, and we had a few drinks there too to relax for the evening. We then strolled through the streets before heading back to the hotel and getting a decent night's sleep.
To say we had a busy schedule on the Sunday would be a lie. We really didn't plan the trip at all, we just upped and went! The main focus was to go to the CN Tower, and to wander around Toronto for the day! The tower lived up to the expectations, and indeed surpassed them! Unlike similar places I've been to (Eiffel Tower, Empire State), there was lots of things to keep you entertained or at least reading while you wait in line.
Now we probably deserve a slap on the wrists for not seeing more of Toronto, but I'm not lying when I say that despite the fact that we spent less than 24 hours there, I truly loved the place. It is the type of place I could see myself living in some day! It is exceptionally clean, the people are friendly, it's not insane like Montreal, yet it has the European feel that I love about Canada.
And yes, we are insane for driving from Boston to Toronto and back in the space of two days!
