Meeting John Stevens after my first season of watching American Idol

So I freaking vowed to HATE shows like American Idol. Stupid singers and their big pie holes! I only started watching this 3rd season and I found myself totally captivated by this tall, lanky redhead who sung Sinatra like nobody's business and had the manners of a gentleman of yore. So when I heard he was at the Grove signing copies of his new CD, I couldn't resist - I hustled over there after work and stood in this long line of people waiting to meet him.

He was such a sweetheart, totally relaxed, patient and unflustered. He never sat down, never stopped smiling for pictures and really displayed a maturity far beyond his 16 years. I'm sure he would've loved to bolt outta there and just get some air and space, but he just hung in there like a trooper.

Aww, I still think he's adorable.
