Staten Island Ferry

Traveled to the East Coast to meet Brett's family and then back out to the West Coast to see mine! We were in NY (my first time in NYC!), PA, MD, and flew back to Sacramento, drove to LA, and spent a day on Catalina Island. Whew..what a crazy week!

Staten Island Ferry

Since we didn't have a lot of time to see everything, Brett suggested we see the Statue of Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry since you had incredible views of the skyline and he wasn't kidding.  We brought a bottle of wine on the ferry and enjoyed the warmth of the sun while taking in the beautifully clear day around NYC.

The ferry was not all that crowded and we had a great seat outside on the Statue of Liberty side going over and we chose the other side coming back so I could see all the bridges.  I have to admit, I was a little surprised as the Statue of Liberty didn't seem as tall in person as she looks on TV.  I know...scale and perspective!
