Arriving in Long Beach

Traveled to the East Coast to meet Brett's family and then back out to the West Coast to see mine! We were in NY (my first time in NYC!), PA, MD, and flew back to Sacramento, drove to LA, and spent a day on Catalina Island. Whew..what a crazy week!

Arriving in Long Beach

We had driven down to Long Beach to check in our hotel which had a gorgeous view of the Long Beach Harbor and Queen Mary.  The hotel was going through a renovation so some of the amenities weren't open (like the pool) but we were headed to Catalina the next day anyways.  Because of the renovation, we scored an awesome deal on the room..I am sure the room will be twice that when the hotel is finished though.

Our room was lavish with a nice balcony overlooking the water.  Perfect to sit out and enjoy a bottle of wine while taking in all the beautiful lights! :D

Awesome Views and Great Location
Currently undergoing renovations and under new ownership (now called the Maya Hotel). Conveniently located near Downtown Long Beach, next door to the Queen Mary and The Reef Restaurant.

My guess is due to the change in ownership and renovations, the rates were incredibly cheap for that area, especially being on the water. Our room was huge and we had a big balcony with wonderful views. The room was elegantly appointed, complete with plushy robes for us!

I absolutely loved this hotel - we enjoyed it so much we booked another night after we came back from Catalina Island.

Continental breakfast is included along with free wifi. And due to the renovations, parking is free right now. A cab to the Catalina terminal in downtown is about 5 minutes, less than $10. During the summer months, the Catalina terminal at the Queen Mary is open which would be within walking distance.
