This is a great show, at a club in a fabulous setting. An open-air venue built at a farm on the outskirts of Havana. The stage and auditorium are surrounded by trees. The lighting is fantastic, the huge orchestra is outstanding and the show itself is unforgettable. Wonderful dancers and singers and amazing costumes.
Yes, it was tacky, loud and expensive but you have to see this icon at least once. My wife and I chose the preferred seating at around £60 each.  The building is modern with an open roof with trees and the stars showing through. People are packed into tables for the show, you are given a glass of champagne, snacks, a half bottle of Rum and a can of "Coke" per couple.
The show was fantastic, with elaborate and colourful costumes and complicated dance and acrobatic routines. Always something to see. The show itself lasts about 2 1/2 hours which went by quickly. I don't think I would return to this show again but see it for the experience and the the incredible history this revue has.
This is well worth a visit during any visit to Havana.

Time to explore !

Great music wherever you go.
After a good nights sleep, it was time to plan our few days in the Cuban capital.
Club Tropicana was on our list of 'must see', as was the home of Ernest Hemingway. We booked the club for Monday night and found a guide to show us all the Hemingway places of interest for Tuesday. With these bits organised, we headed into old Havana to spend the day exploring.
We took a cab to Old Havana and asked to be dropped off at the cathedral.

We spent 3 days in this beautiful city that seems to have been frozen in time for the past few decades...vintage cars, baroque style buildings, grand casas and palacios, beautiful courtyards. This was our first visit to Havana, which was declared as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. This city is probably the only place on Earth with the highest concentration of functional old American cars. And probably the only busy city in the world without any major worldwide chain stores and restaurants.
