PART DEUX of Spring Break 2009. My last hoorah of snow 'fun' this year for sure.

When the Travbuddy goes A-traveling..

I left the house at 9am to get to Yeager Airport and dropped my car off at Long Term parking and grabbed a rental from Avis. Pontiac G6, nice red and i would soon find out can go very fast!

I 77 & I 70

My route ( which i picked the less confusing one) was basically straight towards Parkersburg, over to Ohio and going toward Columbus. This would be about 4 hours rather than the 4hrs and 30 minutes i was suppose to do..

Dayton International Airport ( DAY)

This was my first time driving to Dayton. I was previously here maybe 7 or 8 years ago when i las took a Greyhound but the city was small and it was not difficult to find the Airport, jus follow Airport Access road.

Once i was checked in and scooted through airport i proceeded to the bar. I had an hour left til boarding so i figured a down a beer, catch sum of the March Madness and thats it. Well....after 2 tall ones it was already time to board...better use the bathroom..

Flight to Denver

I have to say this was one of the most uncomfortable flights. NOT THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE, as i have sum unusual panic attacks before but i didnt get to pee and didnt realize i really had to go until i made the 2 people get up when i sat in my window seat. I knew as soon as i sat down, all that beer wanted to come out. I was patience once takeoff occured but after 20 minutes of bumpiness i knew i would be THE ONE.. You guys know what 'THE ONE' is, the one is the person that makes you get up to go use the bathroom. Of course its not THE ONE's fault that they have to go to the bathroom but its THE ONE that annoys the shit outta people cuz they may have woken you up or maybe youre in the middle of a meal or drink and this a**hole is interrupting. im not too fond of these people either but i was courteous to find the strength to wait for these people to finish their inflight meals and as soon as the trash ladies came thro, i hopped out. After peeing for 5 minutes straight i came back and forced myself to sleep as i wouldnt or shouldnt get up until we would land

Where's the Smoking Lounge?

Another first for me is Denver International Airport, its a bit confusing the way the airport is set up. Its not the worst (hell ATL i think holds that honor..) but as i was on a 3 hr flight i saw the sign for Smoking Lounge. As i walked straight back towards the airport, i walked upstairs and found the sign..and followed it...followed it again........and ended up back to where i originally was at on the second floor. i was confused..i walked around again and did not see any sign of this 'lounge'. I did however notice this restauarant with glass doors and bunch of people waiting in front of it and i proceeded toward them. Since i am a newby at this airport i stood and waited...and waited until the hostess asked me if i was waiting on a table..

"NO, i am looking for the smoking lounge"

"You can smoke in here"

"Okay.."

"I need to see ID"   I handed her my government id

"Ok..since your military you dont have to buy anything"

"But what if i want a beer???"

"You dont have to buy, you can smoke for free"

As this conversation was not going anywhere i jus walked in. WTH was all that about?!

My Seat is MISSING!!!

This was my first time flying Frontier. I think the only perk for me was that military had first dibbs on boarding but besides that i am not impressed with Frontier Airlines..actually it may be the last time i ever book Frontier as this occured: I got on the plane, my seat was 18A..Once i got on ( grumbling that i was seating in the back of the plane, Im never comfortable taking off in the back of the plane, i hate that 'dragging' feeling) i looked and saw 18C,D,E, F,......but i didnt see my seat...until i looked and saw this huge storage bin that took over 18A,B. Where am i goin sit? What now? Do i panic that im gonna get kicked off now?! I made the flight attendant fully aware of what was going on and it turned into a debacle that would include 8 people: 2 diff familes and myself and the other gentleman. In the end, i sat up front in row 5. And once airborne we landed in Colorado Springs 15 minutes later...
