woah this guy got married, to a 20 year old, good for him :)

One of the duties of being a student studying abroad (or two...) is to have your host family take you to a wedding.  Not just are they an amazing social event in every culture, but they almost always involve excessive drinking, way to much of the opposite sex, and of course, some sort of dancing.  In this instance of the awkward foreign moment, I got invited to my host parents sons wedding, in Sao Joao del Rei, which is between Belo Horizonte and Rio de janerio, so its fairly centrally located, and is popular with tourists around Brasil, but not big with foreigners.  It reminded me a lot of Ouro Preto since it is also a historic mining city, and has some very cool architecture from the mid 1700's.  They call is baraque... so fix it right?  Baraque is a variety of architecture popular in europe a long time ago, and the portugese brought it to Brasil, so a few gold towns in Brasil have this type of building, also it was a type of music made famous by Bach.

This wedding was amazing, it was in a historic church, and short and sweet.  Also it allowed me to bond with my host family, and I met an amazing girl named Paloma, who is a lawyer and artist. Very cool.
