The Journey Begins...

We all know jet-lag sucks! Usually I sleep on the plane but not this time. We flew KLM, on the plane with the individual screens. I watched 3 movies on the way there so I didn't sleep at all. That made the next 2 days a little cranky! We did this tour trough Gate 1. A tour guide met us at the airport and a shuttle took us to the hotel. We weren't able to check in right away so mom and I walked down the street to get something to eat. A friend of mine from work asked for pictures on internation graffiti...so I would randomly stop on the street to oblige her request. (that was the cheapest souvenir gift ever!)
We had an introductory meeting with our tour guide that evening and the consumption of wine begins! Our guide's name is Annarita. There were 90 people in this group so there were 2 buses and the other guide was Alessandro. Depending on how many people chose to do the optional portions, sometimes people from both groups ended up together. We were given individual radios and ear pieces. Apparently, that's how tours are done now. So the guides don't have to shout over the crowds, at least that's how Italy does it.
