So we arrived back in Krabi from PhiPhi yesterday and then headed out on an asome snorkelling trip today.
We went out on a longtail boat to four different islands. The first was finally one of the picture postcard perfect ones we have been looking for. A tiny island with pure white sands and crystal clear water. We snorkelled here and it was really good, loads of fish and sea urchins. The water was a lovely temperature too. This one was called Poda island and had a big rock island type thing in the bay that looked like the one out of the James Bond film: Man with the golden gun.
The next island was Chicken Island, so called because it has an outcrop that looks like a chickens head and neck! We anchored here for some more awsome snorkelling and then headed onto the island for some well earned lunch. However we had to get two portions as the lunch was only a small plate of rice!
The third island was really two tiny ones joined together by a sandbank which had ok snorkelling but the weather was starting to get a bit crap so we gave up on that one. It was also totally rammed with Thai tourists so you couldn't actually see the sand bank!
The last island was mainly for the cave that was on it. It was called Pranang cave and alot of the Thais prayed there. I found it a bit odd as the shrine was surrounded by hundreds of wooden penises!! Some were 4ft high! Very odd.
Jamie got to do his cliff jump here which I found very stressful to watch! Thankfully he was fine and I got some good pictures!
We also got to see a pack of monkeys that came from further in the island. We were having a walk when we saw them walking all along the fence to the beach so we got a nice lot of pictures before they got to the other tourists!
It was a great day and was really cheap although we both suffered a bit with sunburnt backs from all the snorkelling!
