The first day of spring may be one of the best days of the year.  It's right up there with birthdays and fourth of July fireworks.  The promise that the bleak winter will leave us and the spring will usher in the sunshine and warmth once more is enough to get us out of the house and into the great outdoors.  For all those solar powered people out there: you know exactly what I'm talking about.  The winter blues are swept away with clean breezes and warm sunlight.  Fantastic!

This year left nothing to be desired.  A perfect 74F and clouds that rolled away completely by 3PM made for some good conditions to shoot in.  Sis and I took a trip downtown to walk around and mingle with the other revelers.  We passed not one but 3 singing groups...I tried to take pictures, but it just looked like any other street corner.  Along with the other sun worshipers the pan-handlers were rampant and one was brazen enough to let us know he was honestly looking for change for liquor.  Nice, but not convincing for me.

Here are a few shots I ended up taking of the event.  One of my favorite sites (aside from TB, of course!) is the Boston Globe's Big Picture site.  It had a few spring pictures of its own from around the globe.  Take a look if you get a chance.  Happy spring!!!
