A change of plans...
March 19, 2007
The alarm goes off at 6:15am. Ugh. Gross. I wake up in an unfamiliar
place. These aren't my sheets....this isn't my house. Where am I?
Then it hits me.
Spring break plans that were so bland a week before have now changed to be most exciting. I'm in a bed at a friend's house, about to get up and embark for the Caribbean islands. Cold, lousy weather, boredom is now warm, gorgeous weather, excitement at every roundabout.
When this realization hit me, the difficulty of getting up disappeared. I got dressed in business casual (we flew standby), packed the remaining necessities in my suitcase, then headed off to the airport with the rest of the crew. After a pitstop at Chick-fil-A, we arrived at the airport about 2 hours before takeoff....
...30 minutes before takeoff, my name was called. Great success!! There were still seats open for us! Excellent. As the plane took off, I knew I was headed to the best spring break ever.
