Bienvenue en France! Charles de Gaulle airport
Plane was fine except way alot of turbulence. Had an empty seat next to me so that I could stretch out a little more. Slept for about 4 hours, not bad, although it wasn't straight, it was on and off.
We almost didn't fit all the luggage in the van to the dorm because the guy was an ass and wouldn't even try to fit our "enormous American luggage" in the car. We eventually got it settled where everything that could possibly go in the trunk went in, and then everything else fit okay in the aisle. The guy driving also drove like a madman through Paris but that is to be expected. We saw the Louvre, l'obelisk, l'Arc de Triomphe, and the Assemblee Nationale in passing. We also got a couple of fleeting glances of la Tour Eiffel in the distance, but nothing much to get a picture of.
first glimpse of the Tour Eiffel!
Then when we got to the dorm with the nuns, we had to drag our luggage up 4 flights of stairs to our room, because France does not believe in elevators. I haven't been to see anyone else's room yet but apparently ours rocks because some people came to visit us. Our room is really nice though. We each have a desk and chest of drawers, little bookshelf, We have an AMAZING FREAKING VIEW out our window, and even the windows themselves are pretty amazing. I took some pics of our view, the room itself, us in the van, and us at the airport and on the plane which will be up momentarily on facebook. I can't believe we're actually here!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so amazing. More update later after les explorations. <<pictures of the day up now on facebook
