Paul and I were up early and made our way to Kings Canyon in time to see the sunrise. It was a chilly morning and the wind was blowing at a steady pace. As soon as it was light enough we headed up the trail. It was a good thing we got there early. It was quiet, peaceful and felt a little magical. However, that change a little once the tour buses arrived and the crowds came with them.

The canyon was another great spot to see some amazing sight. Kings Canyon was in a shape of a horse shoe and there were two trails. We took the one that went around the top. The other trail only led to the center of the canyon within the walls. Our trek took us a little over 2 hours and we did not rush. There were not too many areas that demanded much exertion and it was a relatively easy hike.

Later in the day we decided to have a little fun. There was an adventure place that we checked out. They offered ATV, camel and horse trips. Those didn't appeal to us as very exciting and were also expensive. That is when we notice the helicopter. We took a thirty minute ride flying across the canyons, hills, valley and plains. Yes, that was also expensive but well worth it. It was a spectacular ride.
