Day 1 - The Upside Down Landing.
March 16, 2009
I just flew in from America and boy are my arms tired. The thing that hurt the most was when I landed on my head. Apparently, I came down with a case of the Coriolis Effect. Also, somewhere along the flight I must have broke the space time continuum. I left Tampa on Saturday morning and after 27 hours of travel time, I landed in Melbourne on Monday morning. Where did my Sunday go?
Luckily, there was a known cure for all the headache. Paul (nicknamed Banjo) and I quickly made our way to pick up a dose of the magical cure-all. Bundaberg Rum. The stuff he has been telling me about for the last 9 months. After taking a little more than the prescribed amount, we were cheerfully on our way to Banjo's mum's house.
Banjo is my Aussie friend who invited me out on this soon to be epic journey. He must have figured that no trip is complete without a clueless American tourist to make fun of. All the time while we will be making our way through this massive continent.
