here (though it's just a little on him). They also have St. Cuthbert's body and I think St. Hild is here somewhere. There is also some great history to the place. The cathedral was once used as a prison for Scottish soldiers and while trapped inside they burned all the wood except for the clock (the think perhaps because at the top was the Scottish thistle). They also lopped off all the heads of the stone figures on the tombs, which I admit is just a little amusing. The other cool thing about the cathedral, and the castle actually, is that both sites have been used (and hopefully will continue to be used) for the filming of some of the Harry Potter films. Perhaps looking through my photos you'll see a picture of the cloisters that looks eerily familiar to the hall where Lucius gave Dobby the sock. I haven't had a chance to go in Castle yet to get a photo of the dining hall, but I'm sure it will be wonderful. I did however record the bells sounding off, which is quite beautiful. I also went into Middle Common Room to do some Latin translation with a classmate. Yes...students live in Castle...it's the housing for University College. Neat huh? But a bit drafty...
