Arrival in Prague
Arrived late evening got a taxi from the airport to our hotel and settled in.
Had a wander around to find somewhere to eat, quick look at the tour guide and found the Potrefena Husa, translated into the wounded goose! Curiosity got the better of us and we ventured in, guessing the name has something to do with the rather large goose hanging from the ceiling. Nice pub in a cellar, selling huge glasses of beer and good pub grub. We stayed here some time then retired to bed.
Booking was easy, did it online. Was easy to add another booking when a friend decided to join us at a later date.
Check in was simple enough, although you do have to pay up front and leave a key deposit. Our room was as the top and there was no lift, not a problem as we are fit and young but might be for some!
Room was clean and had ensuite and shared area with fridge and eating amenities. Useful if your trip is on the cheap and you don't want to eat out every night. As it happens there was only the 3 of us staying on the floor so had the whole area to ourselves. Security was good, locking front door, another to get onto our floor and then another to the room. Room also had nice views towards the castle. Staff were polite enough.
Hotel was in an ideal location for the city, we chose to walk the short distance to most of the attractions but there was a tram stop less than 100 yards away. There is also a restuarant in the cellar which was cheap and had good wholesume Czech food.
