Downtown Disney
Had a slow morning, Jan and kids went swimming after breakfast.
Later we went to Downtown Disney for lunch.
It was an easy and quick drive from the condo - took us less than 20 minuttes to get there.. Nice :-)
As we didn't know what to expect, we just followed the signs - again very easy - and stopped at one of the first parking sites for Downtown Disney - next to Planet Hollywood.
Took this as a sign, we just had to go there for lunch. It is the worlds largest Planet Hollywood - and it was HUGE! Loud music at first, but as soon as we were seated, we learned the music wasn't as loud around the eating area. Don't misunderstand, it was still loud, but not as "disturbing".
The kids became occupied with all the things hanging on the walls, hanging from the ceiling and the shows/music videos on the TV's.
We ordered food and drinks, and again we're pleased about the good service we've gotten all over since we arrived in the US. Always a friendly, always polite and helpfull. It is soooo nice!
You can order your drinks in special cups to take with you, therefore the children ordered theirs in "Light-up-mugs" and found this quite amusing :-). Must add, the fries at Planet Hollywood is by far the best we've ever had!
After having lunch, we walked all the three stories, just to take a look around the site. We then walked around, Pleasure Island and MarketPlace. Don't know how may stores we entered, there's something for everyone - just bring cash :-) we enjoyed window-shopping most of the time. Saw lots of nice stuff, but you need to bring it back home - and that ain't always easy. Not a lot of shopping for us!
We spent the whole afternoon in Downtown Disney. Ended our tour at Wolfgang Puck for a cold drink. Walked over to check out Cirque du Soleil - heard the show was good, what we hadn't heard was that it was quite expensive. Maybe another time :-) or get the DVD and program for only 35$
It had been a long day, and we headed home for a quick change/shower before going back to Applebee's again for dinner. It was PACKED, most be more people liking this place, we ended up waiting in line for about 15 minutes before we got seated.... but is it so worth it :-)
