In Yangshuo I rented a bike to the explore the trails around the town. Her name was Alice and she treated me well :) She squeaked loudly when she braked but she took every dirt trail and rocky path I rhode her on. In total, I think I covered about 30 km of roads and pathes, including the many wrong directions I took!
The ride through the countryside was unbelieveable. It was better than what I had imagined. I took the trail on the west edge of town to Yima Village and then followed the Yulong River south. I stopped for lunch at Moon Hill Cafe before making the hike up that hill with the same name. The view from the top was more than worth the trip. We had a 360 degree view of the Yangshuo area and surrounding villages. There were dozens of scattered karst peaks and a river winding through the hills. It was one of the best days I'd had on the entire trip.
