WAKE UP AT 4PM....
Only reason I am up this EARLY, is that I want to see more of the city, and Cornelia promised me a full experience of Copenhagen and since we already had a great time partying she wanted to make sure I see everything in the city.
We finally had enough energy to fully enjoy Nyhavn, it was awesome, sitting with our legs hanging over over the ledge of the canal, dining on some of the best thai food ever made, music blarring overlooking the sunset!!! It does not get any better than this :)
Ok we are full, we take one of the cities' boat taxies, and discover that we are not the only people still drunk on Sunday afternoon... Our boat drivers are completely hammered, slamming into the docks AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN!!!
We check out Amelienborg and Kastellet, on our way to see the little mermaid statue.
Its 10pm, and we are heading to Christiania! This is an independent state within Copenhagen, with its own rules, and laws! Until a few years ago, it was LEGAL to sell and use drugs here, so it was the place to go for that stuff. Since it has been made illegal, things have gotten rather dangerous in Copenhagen, with rival gangs fighting for control of the now illegal drug turf. Not knowing that only 2 days ago someone threw a grenade into Christiania, me and Cornelia make our way through this 'interesting state'... OK walking through this small closed off community feels like you are on a movie set, with shaddy people everywhere, as if you are in some really seedy slum in the worst part of town (Wait a minute, you are in a really seedy slum in the worst part of town) What am I doing here again???
Cornelia informs me that you SHOULDN'T take photos inside of Christiania, but you didn't have to tell me that since drawing attention to yourself around here is the last thing that I want to do.
Make our way home I have an ealy flight to Helsinki in the morning...
Thanks to Cornelia my weekend in Copenhagen was awesome! Looking forward to many more fun times in the future :)
Ok to sum up my Copenhagen experience, it surpassed all my expectations, Cornelia is full of life and a fellow party animal, the city has beautiful architecture, and there is so many places to relax and party well into the night or well into the next day haha
