Ok only had 3 hours of sleep last night... That makes it only 10 hours for the ENTIRE WEEKEND! I am exhausted!!! I meet up with Archie at his place of work, it was cool to see Archie since we kept on missing eachother the whole weekend... He called me for lunch the previous day, just as I was about to go to sleep! haha
We got to hangout for a few hours while he was WORKING! haha
I was exhausted but I make my way to Helsinki anyway...
OK first of all, I am so glad I decided to stick around in Copenhagen on Sunday instead of having an extra day in Helsinki as you only need 1 day in Helsinki because there is really NOTHING HERE!
If someone asks you to describe Helsinki its pretty simple.
1 day is all that you need here!
I heard about the former naval fortress, Suomenlinna, so I went there, but it was rather disappointing... I went to see a submarine, because when do you ever get a chance to go into an actual submarine! HOWEVER, when I get there I see the submarine but discover it is LOCKED! wtf???
Why is it locked? Apparently it doesn't open for another few weeks... Why? can't they just place a desk and a security guard with a flashlight and a whistle so I can go in? Its not going anywhere, its on LAND!
I met up with Dixie, she had an hour or so free, so we took a nice tram ride around Helsinki, literally seeing the entire city during the trip.
Suprissingly there are more Russian people in Helsinki than in Vilnius... and all the odd jobs, unskilled labor jobs are done by Russian people (a bit ironic since the Russians used to control Finland!)
I found out that Finland was playing tonight in the International Ice Hockey World Championships so I found the best bar to watch the game. This was alot of fun, EVERYONE in Helsinki was watching the match, EVERYONE! It was good to see some hockey again :)
Helsinki was OK, a bit disappointing... I wasn't expecting a great city, but even Oslo, with its never-ending construction is more interesting and has more things to do/see there
Ok Off to Tallinn in the morning....
