Back to Vienna... didn't know I would be tour leader!
We all got up very early(7am) not out of choice but because the church next to the hostel kept ringing their huge bell EVERY 15 MINUTES! (let us sleep)
We took the train from Hlavna Stanica (Main Train Station) to Vienna and settled into our hostel at Wombats - Lounge. Sabi met everyone here, I haven't seen her since she showed me around last July, it was nice to see her again :)
We chated for a bit and the tour of Vienna began... Only I didn't know that I would be thrust into 'Tour Leader' this day haha
Marloes wanted to see Husserman Hais, and I was commissioned to find it for everyone... with a map and my trusty assistant Sabi, we were able to find the Vienna Landmark! Now we were all a bit disappointed with the building (it looked so much better on the postcards) but that didn't stop Sabi from revealing that this would be the site of her next Vienna flat!
Then we headed to Schonbrunn Palace, since it was a great day outside, I think it is one of the best places to spend an afternoon! We took many photos, Ket acted the part of Austrian King looking down on his minions, we walked about the park to Gloriette, pondering how cool would it be to have Schonbrunn as a party hostel!!!
While walking around Vienna we stumbled onto 'Steiermark Fest' a yearly celebration of everything from the Styrian state of Austria.
After having some Styrian wine, we were all hungry and Sabi took a restaurant she used to work at for dinner... we had many laughs and great food, and like Sabi promised it was off to a bit of Vienna's nightlife. Even though it was Sunday we went to this nice place on the Danube, with a bar and a stretch of sand with beach chairs, where you can enjoy your drinks and company of friends in an awesome atmosphere! The conversation somehow turned to the supernatural, don't remember how that started lol
We knew that we didn't want to call a night just yet, and we also knew that we had FREE drink vouchers at Wombats that we must redeem, so it was back to the hostel for everyone! A few drinks later, we split up, Sabi(Home) Marloes & Bart & Ket (Bed).
Me and Bennie met alot of interesting people the next few hours, but I think we called it a night after some Danish girl decided it was a good idea to start doing a strip tease in the hostel reception area haha!
