Ok we made this trip like in three days, but I am going to summarize it in just one. I seem to remember I didn't fly with the rest of the guys to Boston, but rather took a different flight from Houston. Yeah, because I went to Galveston first. Oh Gosh, my memories are so blurry right now.

Anyway, we got into Boston and I remember seeing downtown and thinking how different it was from other American cities. It look far more packed and busier than, Houston, for example. But it makes sense, since it's such an old city. I remember there were's America's *first* everything over there. Like first city hall, first harbour, first restaurant, etc.

We took a very cool Boston tour which took us to several places downtown, the harbor, etc.

Then, after lunch I made a trip by myself to Boston's public library, as I wanted to see Sargent's controversial painting "The triumph of religion".

I was impressed by the paintings, but the tour guides didn't really talk about the controversial side of it. Bummer. Later I found by myself that it was all about putting Christianity as the triumphant religion over a decayed synagogue.

Then I stayed for a little while in the square in front of the library and watched some people practicing dancing. I tried to get inside the episcopal church in there, but there was a charge to get in. LOL. For me it was the first church ever where there was a "fee" to get inside until I went to Europe. Sad.

So, this was a very very cool small trip to Boston. Of course I still had to attend the conference which had been the reason for me being there, but it's cool that somehow I always have time to tour the places I visit.

BPL is a great place. They have a great collection and quality works in visitation. There is always something on display to see. You picked a prime spot to visit in Boston and the Copley Square area is one of my favorite places in Boston. You didn't visit the top of the Prudential? Great views of the city from there...
