Streets of ubud
Morning of our 2nd day in Bali... we were all set to go to Ubud in central Bali. It was a loooong drive going there. We got up late and got there at about one. We had lunch at Bumbu Bali of Nasi Campur and Mia Goreng... spicy food again, coconut and spices. I loved my banana-strawberry shake. We were not very sure if they give out complimentary tap water, I mean, restaurants in Singapore don't. and so we asked the waitress if the water was complimentary but we don't think she understood. And so my dear friend ordered: "two free water".. haha it was, after all... free!
We shopped around for souvenirs around Ubud and got a very hard but relaxing massage at Caroline's Salon and Spa. Ubud, they say is the center of Bali arts, and we saw several glass and wood artwork all over the place as well.
Although we were rupiah millionnaires (hehe.. 1 PhP = 217 IDR) we only had a budget for souvenirs.
As the sun was going to set, we decided to go to Kuta
, to Club double six to have our bungy jump for the next day arranged. We were checking out the next morning from Bali Hyatt and transferring to the Grand Hyatt in Nusa Dua
, transfers for the jump was complimentary. While arranging our booking at the AJ Hacket, we met Justin, one of the organizers of Famous, a really big party and well, we were quite gullible... haha.. we bought this ticket for IDR 150k. It's hard for me to accept this later after I did the math, I wouldn't have paid that amount for a party back home!!! But then again, San Miguel Beer was one of the sponsors and being Filipina, I thought it was awesome. The party was cool, a lot of activities happening, there were fire-dancers, but cooler was the bungy show. There were people jumping off in motorcycles can you believe that?! There were several characters as well including Mr Poke, who poked us whenever we passed by. He was really intoxicated and we try to avoid him. Creep!
We went home at about 3 am, I guess we could all say that the party was good then.
