Here I come again...
So I decided about a week ago I wanted to go and visit my brother and sister-in-law and also meet my nephew for the first time. He will be 1 in April...
So the flights were ridiculously cheap for a direct flight from Glasgow to Newark so I just booked it! Luckily I dont need to worry about accommodation. I arrive on the Friday morning and leaving on the Monday night. A long way to go for just a long weekend I hear you say, but he's my brother and I miss him! :)
So I'm looking forward to it. The only thing is on the Monday during the day I will be left on my own as both my brother and sister in law cant afford to take the time off. So not sure what I'm going to do then....we'll wait and see!! :)
To continue with this story, on the Monday I really enjoyed myself. I decided to go on the downtown loop of the tour buses. Got my ticket about 9am and jumped on. Jumped off at Macy's for some maye-up but realised it hadn't opened yet so went to a nearby cafe and had some breakfast (blueberry pancakes with fruit - gorgeous!). Once I'd filled my stomach and got my makeup (some MAC..hehe) I jumped on again and the good thing with this bus was it was open top, the first one wasn't. So stayed on right til just after Central Park (great tour! last time I was on it was back in 2000) and then went to look for the correct subway for me to taken to get to my brothers work as I was meeting him for lunch. No bother! Felt like a total New York listening to my Ipod and everything!!! :D
Had lunch...my brother showed me the Ghostbusters building as well. I was quiet excited at that! then said my goodbyes and jumped back on the subway, transferred to the number 7 and heading towards Grand Central Station. I've always said I feel safe in NY and I still maintain that!!!! :DD
