Start of our day...
We set off from our little campsite not too early in the morning and headed to Tlell. We were pretty psyched about the day ahead. Unfortunately, we didn't start on the best foot. Not too far from our campsite, Silan totally wiped out on her bike. I was behind her and I could see her up ahead on the gravel and it was like slow motion from a movie. The back started to wobble and then next thing I knew it, she was slamming in to the ground and the bike was on top of her. I was totally freaking out but she was like I'M FINE! Got right back up and was on her bike in a few minutes. I have no idea how she did it. Good thing she was wearing a helmet.

I'm not sure how far exactly we biked. Probably somewhere around 30 kilometers. The ride was beautiful.
Potty break!
The road itself hugs the shore all the way from Skidegate to Tlell. It was nice and flat and the views were stunning. We stopped for a late lunch at Rising Tide which was delicious. Lunch wasn't cheap but my pizza (shrimp, spinach & artichokes) was delicious.

The next part of the day was not so pretty. At this point, we'd probably biked a total of four hours in two days. And that's a total of four hours for the last....oh....3 years? So my bum wasn't quite ready for the ride. And Sam had really just learned how to bike that year. So. 24km of hilly road from Tlell to Port Clements wasn't exactly fun. Or easy. Someone told us it would take us about an hour to bike there. Add two hours and a lot of walking and swearing and you'll an idea of what it was like. The REAL trooper in all this was Silan. She biked ahead of us with both her stuff and mine just to make it to the grocery store so we could have some food for dinner. That's a real friend right there!

We stayed over at Sunset which was adorable. It was our first real fire and we were seriously stoked. And! I can't forget, it was my first exposure to spaghetti-o's, probably one of my favourite foods on the trip. Oh funny story. We started the fire in the pit near our site before we decided to move under the gazebo. Let's just say I thought the best way to start another fire would be to run with a burning log to the other fire pit. Yes. That's the best way.

Delightful campground
If I'm not mistaken, this campground is run by the local town council or something of the likes. My memory is failing me but if I remember correctly, … read entire review
