peaceful oasis
If there are cities that never sleep, this city never awakes, hahaha. It wasn't too early, but there was nothing open. Justin went to take a couple of pics and when he came back, he told me the restaurant wasn't working, oh!!! Well, I'm not a breakfast person, but definitely wanted to get some water. So, I went to the "shopping" area.

It was about 7:40am and you could feel the heat... The oasis looked really lovely, so I stopped to take a couple of shots too. Then I realized it was getting late, had to hurry up. Walter would come soon. It was 8 and the stores were just starting to open, but people working there were still sleepy, hahaha. I got some juice for Justin and diet Coke for me, hahaha.

When I arrived back to the hostel, Walter was already there. Just on time! I said hi to him and went for Justin.
ready to go, hahaha
Our idea was leaving our backpacks here and then come back for them. But Walter suggested to leave them at the other hotel, where we'd go for the buggy. It was safer leaving our stuff there and also we could use the showers. Nice!

Ok, we were ready just waiting for our driver. A while later, Jesus arrived. He'd be driving the buggy and I'd go in the front, yay! There we go, hurra!!!! We drove through some dunes and stopped to get some pics. Ok, I could say we were in the middle of nowhere!!! just surrounded by sand, hahaha. He was telling me, he moved to Huacachina 2 years ago but used to live in Lima where he was a taxi driver, mmm.
Jesus was about giving lessons
If he used to deal daily with the crazy traffic in Lima, he should be a great driver! hahaha, we were in good hands.

Kept on moving to find a small dune to start practicing the sandboard. Well, have to be honest I was to afraid to try it "stand up"... Sorry... but anyway it was tons of fun!!! Then we moved to another dune, hahaha. This one was bigger and Justin tried doing it "stand up". He was almost doing it, but ... no need to say he was full of sand, well half of his body, hahaha.

We tried it another time and then started the ride through the dunes. It was getting warmer and warmer. So good we decided to do it early, so the day wouldn't be too warm, but it was still warm, ufffff. We got more pics and this time also some of the oasis. Jesus told me to be careful with my camera and the sand.
whiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
But it was too late... hope my camera didn't suffer...

The ride lasted less than expected :( We went back to the hotel and first thing I did was going to take a shower and get rid of the tons of sand I had with me, hahaha. Yay! Now I was refreshed and felt back to life, feeling good! Last night we asked Walter to make a reservation with the bus company to drive back to Lima. They had availability just for 2:30pm. There was still plenty of time. We could have stayed in Ica and visit the surroundings, but Justin preferred to go back to Lima and Ica is not my favorite place, so let's go back to Lima. This time I wasn't robbed, but my camera was full of sand and stopped to work, oh no!!! Yes, better hurry up and leave Ica, please!!!!!

The only problem - actually not a problem - was that we wouldn't drive with the fancy bus. We will go with another company, maybe not as comfortable, but much cheaper. So we told Walter to cancel that reservation and drive us to Ica.
