Another early Saturday, today we met the bus at 6:30. However, I was amazed at how much lighter it was this time, two weeks and a half hour later. It made a difference! With about two dozen competitors, the kids were able to spread out on the bus and have their own space. The trip up was uneventful. We unloaded and headed into the stadium. We each were banded, kids in yellow, coaches in yellow with VIP printed on them. Spectators would wear green wristbands. We staked out the same space as last year. While it was nice to be somewhere familiar, once the announcer started speaking, we remembered the one problem with the seats: the speakers were right next to us and the sound system was very loud.
The day was a great one for our athletes.
The weather was fantastic, maybe a little too nice, judging by my sunburn. I did put on sunscreen but as usual, I missed a few spots!
