Just being confused about the French language
August 16, 2007
Today we just wanted to drive through France and enjoy some more different impressions but even ´just driving´ wasn´t that easy because of the unfamiliar looking city names.
The French language was absolutely challenging although I learnt it at school but recognizing all the different, often amazingly long names was both a bit confusing and good fun. Our eyes stuck on the road signs like a stamp on an envelope, that's for sure!
An extra round in many of the countless and often creatively decorated roundabouts became a habit but on the other hand it was a nice possibility of getting to know a couple of neat places.
Our more than 420km long route guided us through Marc du Seine, Dijon and Troyes . In the end we arrived somewhere in the beautiful Champagne , where we also found an idyllic place for the night.
We stayed right beside a field, where we could watch a whole rabbit family hopping around the mobile home. How neat! We didn´t dare to move or blink or breathe until the curious little fellows had finished their dinner in the field.
Hmmm, that quiet and relaxing evening seemed to be a bit unreal. We definitely weren´t used to so much peaceful and stressless time anymore ;-)
