Intro and photos of home

In the summer of 2007, I'm getting back on the road for a short time, connecting the dots between Berlin and Istanbul.  In the meantime, I'll put out a few entries and videos describing elements of travel planning and other considerations.  I don't know how much I'll be able to update this when I'm on the road, but I'll do what I can -- and I'll be sure to flesh out the whole thing when I get back.

I'm going to try and record some short videos with my digital camera, not neccessarily of places and sites, but more as a kind of video journal -- our experiences, impressions, etc.

Meanwhile, these are some photos of my starting point.  Not a bad place really, but far too cold in the Winter.
