St. Peter´s Square

Furthermore we went to Vatican City, where we saw Pope John Paul II. while he was surrounded by thousands of faithful followers. Even though we are not particular church the atmosphere was quite impressive and we enjoyed the amazing architecture of the St. Peter´s Dome.

And we liked the stunning view from the Angel´s Castle! Great place to take extremely nice photos and relax high above the rooftops of the city.

Apropos ‘impressive’ - the Italian traffic is just incredible as well! I don’t know if there’re any rules or not but the only rule a pedestrian should follow is ‘Just cross the road no matter if there’s a car or scooter coming or not’. Sure, it was a bit strange and a little scary at the beginning but it was obviously the only way to cross a street either. Do not look at the driver directly because that’s your signal of weakness and the vehicles won’t stop. After a while we got used to this not-paying-attention habit and it was good fun, though. But the more fun it had been in Rome the more difficulties we had back in Germany.

The nightlife was a great entertainment as well and it was a shame to go to bed!
