About Hellesylt..
February 26, 2009
I felt I had to tell about my homeplace, where I have growned up, and
lived all my life. It lays ahead of one of the most beautiful fjords in
the world, Storfjorden(which Geirangerfjord is a piece of). Hellesylt
itself doesn't have much to offer if you're looking for the typical
tourist place. It is a small town with only 600 inhabits, so the
opportunity to shopping isn't big. We also have a old hotell which is
open some summers..!(it's open this year!), two campsites, a youth
hostel(very nice one too!), and some larger cabins for rent. Just ask
me if you want some more information about lodging!
Hellesylt is possible one of the most peaceful places in the world(which can be boring sometimes for the locals*me!*, especially in the winter). It's a place where tourists come in the summer(mostly to go to Geiranger with the ferry), but there is never so many that it is crowded. Since the town are surrounded by mountains the hiking opportunities are many! We also have a beach so you can take a swim in the freezing water..
