We spent the first day/ night on Korea Air, and arrived at Incheon International airport in the morning. It was freezing! After we met with the tour guide and the rest of the tour, we went off for a much-needed breakfast. Breakfast was at a rural eating house, hot pot. In Seoul
, we basically have hot pot for all meals. It was very nice, especially if you visit Seoul in winter. The hot soup and the warm atmosphere of the place basically just neutralise the cold winter weather. For us, we just ate our breakfast fast, and get out of the house to play with the snow. Though, it is not snowing that day, but the fact that we are walking on real snow on the road makes the day.
After breakfast, we went to Da Chang Jin's theme park.
Dong Da Men
Da Chang Jin, or Dae Jang Geum, is a popular korea drama which shows how a girl in the Joseon Dynasty, with her determination became the first female royal physician. Being fans of the show ourselves, we were very excited that we were going to the very place where the filming took place. The place was different from how the tv protrayed. The kitchens were tiny and dirty, totally different from how the tv protrayed them. We went to the stretch of road where Changjin and Min Zheng Hao hugged. Ok, unless you have watched the show before, you won't understand the significance of that stretch of road. Even so, there are plaques around the theme park which explained when the various locations are in the film. Nice.
After a very very cold outing in the theme park, we went to Da Dong Men, Dong Dae Mun, for some shopping. We bought some fleece, as it was too cold for us. However, there is nothing much for us to buy there as the clothes on display are mainly for the winter season. Being summer whole year round in Singapore, there is not much shopping to be done here, so we just wandered around and head to the basement for some snacks.
So, after a very cold introduction to Seoul, we head back to our hotel, which I cannot remember the name, for our first night in Seoul
