After a great breakfast at the The Moon River that saved many of the mornings in Shanghai - I had all the coffee I could take and a great omelette - Kaija was in seventh heaven with her pineapple juice and her omelette, we decided to do something less stressful than walking the streets.
We took a Taxi (again!) to the Zoo - we came early to an almost empty Zoo in beautiful sunshine. The tickets were reasonable and we very fast could see that the Zoo was quite big with a very good distance between the animals.
We were met by two guys who were selling trips around the Zoo in golfcars - one of the was 200 yuan a person which is totally out of proportion and the other one at 20 yuan. We tried to understand the difference but he only said "click-click panda" and from what we understood the difference was that the expensive would take us to all the sites with out walking.
Destination of the ride was the (poor) panda - we had our hopes high but we only saw one sleeping and very dirty Panda that had crapped it self. I could not take a picture of that! The surrounding of its cage was also very cloomy. I had imagined that the star attraction would be in a better place and in better condition:(
Next to the Panda they had the Red Panda - who are a lot smaller but they were in much better condition. Funny beggars.
I general the condition for the animals could have been better - some of them were ok - the giraffes and the elphants.
All the amimals were used to get things thrown to then especially buns (4 yuan for 4), which were sold everywhere.
