Departure
Woehoe!! Today is the day that I could start on my big journey!!!
At 9.15 am we took the car on the way to Brussel where I would take the plane to Abu Dhabi. Since we had never been before in Brussel we decided to do a daytrip so that’s why we went so early. The first attraction was the Atomium. It was so big, amazing! If you are in Brussel you really need to see this.
We bought our tickets and we took the elevator upstairs, but it was the wrong way.. where did we have to go? Then we arrived at the first ‘ball’ where you could get some information about the building. Think about how they built it and all that stuff. You could take another elevator, but it was really long. When you looked downstairs you got the feeling of falling down. Scary! When you were finally upstairs you arrived in… Antarctica! It’s definitely not something you would expect. But they made it very beautiful. Nice to see. But if you are in the Atomium you have to go upstairs to get the nice view over Brussel. We made it, but how? There is absolutely no logic in this building. Unfortunately the weather was not that good but it was good enough to enjoy the view and make some pictures.
Later on we took the car to get something to eat and visit some other attractions in Brussel. When we drove into Brussel I already noticed that there is such a big difference between Holland and Belgium. The architecture and everything.. really beautiful! There were a few nice places to get dinner and a lot of nice buildings to see. Especially at the ‘Grote Markt’. It’s a big square with a few important buildings, love it! Then we had to visit ‘Manneken-Pis’ of course. It’s a small statue, but really famous.
We had our lunch at the ‘Drugstore’. The food was good! Then it was time to take the car and drive to the Airport. We were way too early but that was not a problem.
Sort my luggage out because I already figured out that it was way too much luggage, so gave some things back to my parents.
At this moment I am waiting for the flight at Gate b10. Oh, I’m so excited, just one hour left for boarding. The flight went well and I really do like Etihad! It’s a very good airline. I had a chair at the window side, that was great. There was just one man sitting next to me. He looked a little like Mr. Bean. Same accent and same way of talking and expressions.. that was really funny.
