My 10week trip from Bahrain, UAE, Australia and New Zealand!

Cape Tribulation - day 1

Said goodbye to Kiki because today we are going to the Cape Tribulation and don't see her again.
Exactly at 730am the bus came to my hostel to pick me up. I was the last one this time. I felt in sleep immediatley since I was really tired. After 45 minutes of driving we arrived at the first stop of the Rainforest. It was pretty nice to see, unfortunately it's always difficult to make good pictures then. We just walked a little bit around. At the river you could climb on stones so there was a better view but I didn't do it, to scared to fell down. Seraina did but she is still alive ;) We were the first one who were back.
Fortunately I still did not see any snakes or spiders, I'm so scared for that!

The next stop was at the Zoo. Yes, another one! In the last month I've been to the Zoo many more times then in the last few years.

When we arrived at the Zoo there was a strange animal which lives in australia, I don't know the name. The driver gave him a banana and 2 tomatoes. In just one time he eat all the fruit, it looked so disgusting. We saw a snake, some crocodilles. He threw a stone into the water so the crodocile jumped out so we could see him. The first time I did not notice it and was just looking so I was a bit in a 'shock' but it was fine after.
We just were very hungry but he though we had our own food with us, no we did not. So we ordered something to eat: Chickenpanini. That was really good. Ready to go! We drove trought the rainforest to a very nice lookout. Here was the place that you could see how the rainforest and the great barrier reef comes together.

At the next stop we should do a walk of 45 minutes, so I decided to go to the toilet first.

The driver said that I had to watch out for spiders because they like toilets. I thought he was joking with me but some other girls had to go to the toilet as well and they showed me how it works. Fortunately there was no spider at the toilet!

But that changed... when we were in the rainforest of the '45min walk'. Frist we got some explanations of the different kind of trees and stuff and then at one point the spanish girl said: Here! Everyone walked to that point, there was the first spider of my whole holiday and what kind of a spider! Dammn, that one was huge! A big black one with yellow spots, very scary! This is btw also a very good place for spiders, not a nice idea for me!
But the '45min walk' was more like 35 min talking and watching the trees and spiders and 10 minutes of walking it was a bit boring.

At 1.30pm we arrived at the accommodation where we would spend this night. The hostel is of wood and it's surrounded by big big spiders! Great, love that idea of having a spider walking at your leg in the middle of the night!! Fortunately it's just one night haha.

In the afternoon we went swimming in the swimmingpool which was really cold! We saw the beach but it had rained before the whole time so it was totally wet. Later on we had to call the travel agency for some information for the whitsunday Island. But it was way to expensive for me so I decided not to do it.
The dinner was really good! I had pasta and Seraina ate Kangaroo. So I tried it of course. It tasted oke but just the idea of a Kangaroo made me feeling sick!

In the evening we just played a silly game called: 4 op een rij. I'm sure there is an english name but I just don't remember.
