Nim Li Punit, "Big Hat" Classic Period (400AD-700AD) Maya site in the Toledo District of Belize, located at (16.31N x -88.78W) 22 miles north of Punta Gorda and 1 mile east of the Southern Highway. The elevation is 206' above sea level. The max population was 7,000. "Big Hat", refers to the large elaborate head-dress on a stela sculpture that was found on site depicting one of the ancient kings of Nim Li Punit.
