After raising over £3000 for the charity 'Scope' I embarked on an amazing five day trek to Machu Picchu.

Arrival in Lima

The trip was for charity and I was extremely nervous at first as I had not met anyone prior to arriving in London the night before we travelled. We'd had contact through emails and everyone seemed really nice, open and up for a laugh. On arrival, this was certainly the case so I soon relaxed and began to enjoy the experience. We flew from Heathrow to Amsterdam and then after a 12 hour flight from Amsterdam to Lima we finally arrived at our first destination. We were all pretty tired so after a quick walk around the local area and short tour on a coach we headed back to the hotel for some much needed rest! Unfortunately as we were on such a tight schedule that was the last I saw of Lima as a city, I'd back in a few days but didn't see any further than the airport walls! A shame as it seemed like a beautiful city with a lot to offer.
