Coté Bellecour et Coté cuisine is the stylish restaurant of the 4 stars hotel:Le Royal,part of the Accor group which sits under its newly rebranded M.Gallery umbrella.Located in a great location,in the heart of the presqu'île of Lyon,on place(square) Bellecour,one of the Europe's grandest squares(the largest pedestrian square in Europe) which marks the center of the city.
Le Royal is the hotelschool of The Institut Paul Bocuse,its flagship and trains students in every aspects of the culinary arts,hotel and restaurant management.
We had today a nice meal with tasty dishes carefully prepared by the chef and students of the Institut and the service was quick and efficient.Our red Côtes du Rhône from organic agriculture was ropy and tasty.
I had a fresh salad of young vegetables with thin slices of duck foie gras(convenient),the cockerel with purée and asparagus(tasty) and as dessert a great strawberry soup with a sorbet.
Prices for a lunch are not cheap but the restaurant is very quiet,well located and luxury: 22 euro for a main course+dessert or starter
