At the border
Well having stayed in Montreal for about 8 days in the last days of December, I do recommend bringing some heavy clothing for the winter time. The city sidewalks and streets were completely covered in snow for the 8 days I was there.

But forgetting about the freezing cold winter temperatures and snowfall, I found Montreal to be a beautiful European-esque city without the long travel time and expensive currency exchange rates. In fact, the currency exchange rate was in my favour for the first time in my life.

And with that, there is more to discover and spend your money on. Some lovely restaurants, cafes and of course the old city of Montreal is a gem in itself with fabulous brick lined roads and old shops.

What can I say, the people of Montreal are very forgiving when your French is off and thankfully a good 99% of them are bilingual, unlike some other cities or countries for that matter.

Montreal is a must.
